Home for the Holidays

Friday I packed up the jeep, loaded up the dog, and headed southeast to Houston for the holidays.  I'm spending a week with my parents just relaxing and enjoying time together.  The husband will join us later in the week, so for now we're having some good old daughter/parent time.  It's funny that after almost 10 years of living in Waco, including 2 1/2 years of being married and owning a house, I still feel like I am coming home when I pull onto their street.

So to commerate being home for the holidays, here are a few of my favorite things about being in Houston:
1.  Amazing food - we've already hit 2 of my favorite restuarants
2.  Great shopping - we've already braved the crowds to hit a few favorite stores I can't find in Waco
3.  The Bark Park - Honey and I hit up the Bark Park yesterday for a good hour and a half while there was a showing at my parents' house - Waco SO needs one of these!
4.  Old friends - this doesn't need any explanation

However, there are some things I will NEVER miss about Houston!
1.  Traffic
2.  Traffic
3.  Traffic

It's definitely a love-hate relationship with I-10 - reminds me that I'm home, but I loathe driving it.  Thankfully I'm planning on not having to do much of that this week!

If you are still reading, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you and yours!  I hope you can be home for the holidays wherever you are!
