I'm still alive....

In case there was any doubt from my readers (however few many there may be), I am still alive.  It's been a busy last few days, and for a variety of reasons I wasn't at a place where I could blog.  I know you all are horribly disappointed that I did not post a new recipe on Friday.  {note sarcasm}  In all actuality, I did not even COOK last week! I can't even remember what we did for meals now.  But that is neither here nor there.

Last week was busy...well really the end of last week was busy.  Wednesday was a big day for our family.  My mom has been in ministry for 40 years, the last 36 of which she has been the Preschool Minister at a large church where I grew up.  Actually my parents met and married there, so it's been the only church I had known my entire life until college.  On Wednesday, she announced her retirement.  To say it was a big day would be an understatement.  We had been praying and waiting on this day for about 18 months - their house had to sell before she could announce anything, and yes, it took 18 months for it to sell!  Talk about patience and waiting on God!

If you're following my rambling, not only is she retiring, but my parents are also moving.  They are going to be moving here, and have bought a house about 9 miles from us, and about 2 miles from where I work.  We are all excited, and can't wait for this new stage in their lives.  (M is excited because their new house has a pool, hot tub, basketball goal, and BATTING CAGE - which he plans to convert to a dual batting cage and driving range.)

So that was Wednesday night, and we were finally able to freely talk about it with other people once she announced it to her leadership and friends.  Thursday I drove down to H-town to stay with them through Saturday.  I was attending a conference (which was amazing!), and it was incredibly timely that I got to stay in their house one that time.  It was very bittersweet - they have lived there for 14 years - exactly half of my life. On Saturday when I was about to leave, we stood in a circle and prayed, thanking God for our time and memories in our home.  If you know me or my parents, you know we all cried.

So that was last week, and I just feel like I am starting to catch my breath.  This may be the most boring post ever, but I thought I'd catch you {whoever you may be} up on the latest in our lives.  This week is packed full as well, but maybe I'll get back into a routine with my blogging and cooking here soon!

That is big news! Lots of change but it sounds like exciting things are to come!
